...a point of note, I agree with the "mirror mask" comment. The texturing, lines and several other characteristics lend itself to that parallel. If you haven't seen it I also recommend it, it is a rather surreal piece of work vaulting through the dreamscape of an adolescent carnival child performer as she attempts to deal with the vagaries of life. (It's also by Niel Gaiman I should add).
